What’s Next?

Releasing the game isn’t the end of the story. Besides trying to market it, we have a backlog of about 20 bugs that are worth fixing. (None serious enough to prevent launch, because they’re minor typos or extremely unlikely, but we’re perfectionists at heart.) And we really want to add VoiceOver support to the game, so blind players can run it. There’s also another scene or two I want to add.

No timetable for that (partly because a few other projects need to come off the back burner now that 2.0 has shipped).

Beyond that, the future is unclear. Needless to say, the better the sales are, the better the odds of spinning off other projects.

But what’s immediately next is waiting impatiently for 8 September to roll around to where I live!

  1. 8 of December? You're breaking quite a few hearts there, David :)

  2. Oops, that would break my heart too! Release is Thursday, which apparently has happened in parts of the world already.

  3. Is there a way to turn off the tutorial popups during clan creation? They get in the way, the shrunk [?] sometimes obscures the skip button, and the 'hints' are redundant.

Good job culling some of the creation options, though; the ones I remember being most useless are all gone or conflated with others.

  4. Aside from the creation tutorials, game flow is pretty solid. Removing sheep/pigs etc cleans up a lot of screens and events, there's more information available to players when making decisions, etc.

However, it's lame but I wish the ring-band didn't rotate your ring; in the old game I remembered skills by position rather than face or name. The tutorials cover everything in a high level of detail, but don't mention the only change in language still left - the 'carls' = 'farmers' = 'fighters' and 'weaponthanes' = 'elite fighters'. It's obvious, but so are a lot of the other things you need to explain to new players.

And the tutorial hints become strange if you don't follow their instructions, often showing the next several hints before going back to the right one when you eventually do what they told you to. Must turn off! :)

  5. I'm guessing you've played before, pnakotus, so the tutorial isn't so much for you. Still, it's just a year, so go through it.

If you want to be sure we don't overlook a bug or suggestion, be sure to send it to our bugz@ address.

  6. DLC - please! Bring some DLC!

I want to see the game expanded in the future!

Marveous work on the GUI btw.

  7. While I do hope to add a few more scenes, I don’t want to nickel-and-dime customers with additional purchases.
